Rubicon Organics is seeking a Planning Specialist to support demand and supply planning activities across cultivation, production, and commercialization. This role plays a critical part in balancing supply and demand, identifying risks early, and translating data into clear actions for cross-functional teams. 
This is a hands-on planning role ideal for someone with a strong analytical foundation who enjoys working in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment and wants to grow into a senior planning or supply chain role. This role reports to the Senior Planning Manager and is based out of our Delta location. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
Supply & Demand Planning (Primary Focus) 
  • Prepare and maintain supply vs. demand analysis to identify risks, shortages, and overages 
  • Support alignment between demand plans, grow plans, and production schedules 
  • Evaluate feasibility of new product launches based on inventory availability, production timelines, and constraints 
  • Support allocation decisions across finished goods, WIP, and bulk inventory 
  • Proactively flag risks to service levels, inventory health, or execution timelines 
  • Support off-site and 3rd-party inventory planning to maximize availability and minimize obsolescence 
Cross-Functional Planning Support 
  • Work closely with Cultivation, Production, Brand, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to ensure plans are aligned and executable 
  • Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle through analysis, scenario evaluation, and slide preparation 
  • Partner with Brand and R&D teams on disposition of excess or constrained biomass 
  • Support order fulfillment and allocation activities in alignment with planning rules and priorities 
Analysis, Reporting & Continuous Improvement 
  • Maintain planning trackers, models, and planning assumptions with high data accuracy 
  • Perform root-cause analysis on recurring shortages, delays, or planning gaps 
  • Support inventory accuracy initiatives including cycle counting and reconciliation 
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, data quality, and execution efficiency 
  • Support ad hoc analysis and planning initiatives as required 

Qualifications & Experience: 
  • 3–5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning, or Operations roles 
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, supply planning, and production planning concepts 
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, scenario analysis) 
  • Experience working with ERP systems and planning data 
  • Highly organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally 
  • Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability 
  • Experience in cannabis, CPG, food, or regulated industries is an asset but not required

  • Planning assumptions are accurate, current, and well understood by stakeholders 
  • Cross-functional teams trust the analysis and recommendations from this role 
  • Inventory, allocation, and launch decisions are data-driven and executable 
  • Planning processes improve in clarity, efficiency, and reliability over time

Compensation

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
